Anyways, I let Carlito run around without a diaper after his bath tonight...until he started doing a little dance and pointing to his hiney. I had him sit on the potty and out came poop! We made SUCH a big deal of it and even called Gigi to tell her. Sorry I have no picture to go with this post...when I talked to big Carlos he couldn't believe I didn't take a picture! Maybe next time!

Mommy's Weekend Away!!!
Well, it's been another crazy month for Carlos with work, so I've been treating myself to some extra luxuries to help me get through it, and can't wait until the summer when his schedule will be somewhat back to normal!
This past weekend I was able to go to Atlanta with 4 other friends/twin mommies. We spent our entire Saturday shopping, had a great dinner out at the Cheesecake Factory, and then woke up Sunday morning to do some more shopping and eating, and finally our drive home. It was such an amazing, relaxing weekend and great to be somebody other than "mom"! The kids did great for the sitter and could care less when I walked back through the door...those little boogers! Here's a few pictures from the trip.....

And this morning we had a playdate with our Multiples Club at the Greenville Zoo. The giraffes are still the highlight for the twins, and Katie just goes along for the ride. Here are some pictures from the playground at the zoo....Katie was so careful to not get her knees dirty while crawling around. It reminds me of pictures of me crawling when I was her age...it was the exact same way!

Back from Blogging Vacation...
I'm not even going to make excuses for my lack of blogging lately, and just jump in with what all has been happening around here. We now have TWO YEAR OLDS TWINS!!! (how the heck did that happen?!) and a 10 month old on the verge of walking! Life has been very hectic the past few months (as usual) but very blessed (as usual!)
Unfortunately, along with the second birthday came the "terrible twos." I was really hoping we would be immune to them, our that they would possibly be delayed, but no such luck. We now have full blown temper tantrums, complete meltdowns in public, and constant whining and bickering. Carlos and I are still experimenting with different discipline techniques, but for now counting to 3 and then placing them in timeout is working the best. The only cute part of it all is when we hear the twins counting the 3 with each other. Like it's going to get the same outcome that we get.
Katie-Bug (or rather, Katie-Bob as Anna calls her) is still the easy, laid back third child. We just got her new "big girl" carseat today, because she's completely outgrown the infant one. It makes her look so grown-up. :( I'll try to snap a photo later to post.

JANUARY 20TH
The 20th of every month is big in our house... every kid has a "birthday." Today the twins are (**gasp**) 22 months old and Katie is 7 months old! Some days I wish I could freeze time. I could take in each memory and milestone, and appreciate every moment I have with these kids. And then other days, I'm thrilled time is passing! In honor of it being the 20th, I thought I'd update everyone on the kids' latest accomplishments...
Katie-bug now weighs over 17 pounds. Anna was 17 pounds on her first birthday, so this seems huge to us! She is still crazy long, with light-colored hair and blue eyes. I promise she is our kid. She can now sit, crawl, and hold her own bottle, all of which make my day much easier. We are attempting baby food, but she hasn't quite gotten the hang of it yet. She loves the doorway jumper and watching the dogs... and stealing toys from her brother and sister. She is now going to Mother's Morning Out two mornings a week, and the teachers always comment on what a happy baby she is.
Carlos has just learned to say "apple" and "I love you." Although, it sounds more like "I uv ooh." He also says "Anna" now instead of "nana," so I am no longer confused of whether he wants his sister or a banana. He's my big eater and will pretty much eat whatever I put in front of him. (Especially if I give him ketchup or syrup for dipping!) He still loves watching Elmo's World and sleeping in his sister's bed. We think he's learning the song "Old MacDonald Had a Farm," because we hear him jibber-jabbering and then ending with E-I-E-I-O. It's adorable.
Anna's latest thing is jumping. She loves to jump in place, but after a few jumps her feet are no longer coming off the ground at the same time and it looks like she's doing a chicken dance. She still loves to tell people what to do, especially her brother. Just last night when I said dinner was ready, she yelled, "Bubby! Eat!" and pointed to his booster seat. Her favorite activities right now are reading and coloring. And she now says "pees" (as in 'please') when she wants something. She now can't stand to be dirty, and wants her hands wiped or shirt changed at the slightest mess. She's definitely all girl.
So those are our kids, and all they are up to!

Anna's boo-boo
Once a month, during RSV season, the twins get Synagis. It's an injection to help boost their lungs and protect them from bad respiratory illnesses. This is the second and final year they will receive the shot. On Monday Carlos took them to their appointment in Greenville while I stayed down here with Katie. Normally the nurse would remind me to hold their hands down while the shots are administered (they divide the medicine in half and inject each leg...Last year I asked them to get two nurses and stick them simultaneously. This year they say they can't because they are under staffed.) Well, the nurse did not tell Carlos to hold their hands, and when she stuck Anna, Anna reached down and grabbed the shot, resulting in a nasty scrap on her leg. Now she walks around, saying "boo-boo" or "uh-oh" and pointing to her leg. Then today when I got the mail, their was an envelope from the infusion center with the two permission forms to inject the kids. Appartently the nurse ALSO forgot to get Carlos to sign those! (I'll refrain from name-calling.)

Toddler Beds
So we did it. We transitioned the twins' cribs into toddler beds, which means they are capable of getting in and out (and staying out) on their own. We were ready to do this, but dreading it at the same time, and I can finally say a few weeks into it that it's now going well. The first few nights were awesome...I think they were probably just afraid to get out so they stayed put and went right to sleep. About 3 days later, that all changed. For about a week or so, they would run back and forth to each other's cribs, pull everything out of the dresser drawers, attempt to get out of the room...they would spend their entire naptime playing. Now I think the excitement has worn off and they do pretty good about going straight to sleep.
Except now, they only want to sleep together! They shared a crib for the first 4 months of their lives, but have been on their own ever since. They prefer Anna's bed so now I just put them down together there. And when I check on them after they fall asleep, I move Carlos into his own. It's actually pretty cute.
